This course teaches you how to design and implement a disaster recovery architecture that minimizes downtime and data loss. You will deploy a multi-tier application and evaluate backup and restore, pilot light, warm standby, and multi-region active-active solutions. In addition, you will learn strategies to recover from accidental and malicious data loss as well as regional failures. The course also covers recovery time (RTO) and data loss (RPO) reduction techniques using DynamoDB global tables and the Aurora global database. I am Chandra Lingam and I am your mentor. - Simulate malicious data loss and corruption and learn how to recover data
- Manage zone loss using backup and restore
- Configure the app in pilot light mode and see how it minimizes data loss
- Upgrade infrastructure as warm standby and how it helps reduce recovery time
- Consider multi-site active-active configurations for a non-stop solution
- Learn how DR changes with relational databases like RDS and Aurora
- Configure point-in-time restore, backup schedule, and continuous replication
- Perform both managed fault and unplanned failover to the DR zone using the Aurora global database
