Description
How-to guide to Argo workflows on Kubernetes published by Udemy Academy. Learn how to integrate native Kubernetes workflows with Argo Workflows.
Argo Workflows is a container-native workflow engine for orchestrating tasks on Kubernetes. This means that complex workflows can be created and executed entirely within a Kubernetes cluster. It provides a mature user interface that makes operation and monitoring very simple and clear. There is native artifact support through which completely different artifact repositories can be used (Minio, AWS S3, Artifactory, HDFS, OSS, HTTP, Git, Google Cloud Service, Raw). Templates and cron workflows can be created, with which individual components can be created and combined into complex workflows. This means that composability is a given. Additionally, workflows can be archived and Argo provides a REST API and Argo CLI tool that makes it easy to communicate with the Argo server. It’s also worth noting that Argo Workflows can be used to manage thousands of pods and parallel workflows in a Kubernetes cluster. And robust replication mechanisms ensure a high level of reliability. There is now a large global community that continues to grow. IBM, SAP and NVIDIA to name a few. It is mainly used for machine learning, ETL, batch and data processing as well as CI/CD. And what’s also very important is that this is an open source project and a project of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation.
After successfully completing the course, you will be able to create complex workflows with and without cron triggers using various workflow concepts and functions. You can create workflow templates and use them as reusable building blocks for complex workflows. And you learn about Argo’s features and how to use them.
What you will learn in the How to Guide to Argo Workflows on Kubernetes course:
