Description
ICEMCFD Master Class (Level 2) Course. Meshing is the most important part of any CFD process. Meshing is the process of dividing a continuous domain into discrete parts called control volumes. After discretization, this mesh is submitted to the numerical solver (CFD) to solve the algebraic equations arising from the partial differential equations of the continuous domain. Therefore, meshing is the most important part of any CFD process and the accuracy and stability of the CFD process largely depends on good mesh quality. It is estimated that in any CFD project, about 70% of the time is spent on meshing. But after taking this course, you will be an expert in meshing and will be able to create meshes in much less time than the rest of the CFD community. In meshing, you can proceed with a full Hexa mesh or Tetra mesh (with prismatic layers). Hex meshing is more of an art and takes a lot of time. But it provides the most accurate solution. It also requires less number of nodes and hence is less resource intensive and requires less solution time. It also avoids numerical errors/numerical diffusion as seen in Tetra meshes. Tetra meshes are estimated to be five times larger than Hexa meshes. In this course, you will improve your ICEMCFD Hexa meshing skills for more complex geometries such as circular cylinders, 3D blades, stirred tanks, wind turbines, etc. After completing this course, you will be able to create a complete mesh as per the requirements of CFD simulation, thus achieving the most accurate results in less time. We will also cover various topics that increase the effectiveness of Hexa mesh.
