Descriptions
Drawing Basics: Anyone can learn to draw, just like anyone can learn to speak. Drawing is a visual language. Learning the vocabulary and grammar of visual language will help you communicate with images! You’ll learn the most important basic concepts for drawing, and soon you’ll be able to draw images from your imagination or from reference. This course is designed to help you keep drawing without burning out or getting discouraged. It’s packed with information, lame jokes, and projects. There are even two levels for each project – one for absolute beginners and one for intermediate artists who want to review and refine their basics here. That means you can go through the course twice! First as a beginner and then as an advanced artist. What? A two-in-one?!
We’ll start by developing habits for drawing with good line quality. Then we’ll move on to shape, the main concept that communicates the subject you’re drawing, so it’s important to understand how to design interesting shapes to design your own characters and objects. Then we’ll make those shapes in 3D! We’ll learn the basics of perspective and learn how to construct shapes intuitively, without complex math and grids. Finally, we’ll learn how to add light and shade to our drawings by controlling values and edges. If you choose this course and follow the projects, you’ll get better at drawing. You’ll have a good foundation of skills that can be transferred to any field. Whether you want to be a fine art painter, concept artist, or comic book artist, this is the prerequisite!
