Nicomsoft OCR SDK is a powerful OCR component for extracting text from images in 26 different languages (except Farsi), so programmers can confidently use this valuable component in their projects. This product currently supports 26 live languages in the world such as English, French, Italian, Bulgarian, Polish, Portuguese and … plus 5 Asian languages including Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Arabic, Japanese and Korean. This component supports various image formats like BMP, JPg, PNG, Tiff and gif as input and can extract desired text from these formats.
There are several different images in tiff and gif format. Tiff files have several different layers and gifs are a set of consecutive frames. This component can also detect and extract the texts attached to these images. The OCR result can be saved in various formats such as PDF, PDF/A (PDF/A-1a or PDF/A-1b), RTF, text and xml. One of the interesting features of this product is the variety of data entry methods.
For example, in addition to image files, raw files and memory content can be used for oCR operations. It can also read barcodes in various standard formats. It also supports MRZ information used in passports, visas and other IDs and bank cards. Nicomsoft OCR SDK can also scan pages scanned upside down or from other angles. One of the coolest parts of this library is the ability to flip, rotate, and mirror the input image before oCR. You can use this function for oCR images that are inverted for any reason, such as text images reflected in a mirror and so on.
