Learn Remix by Building Social Media with TypeScript and Prisma, Remix takes a more traditional approach to web development, embraces the Client/Server model and in doing so opens up the web platform in ways you may not be used to. You’ll find yourself not having to manage global state very often (try not to start in the first place!) because you can access the server’s content ready for you anywhere in your application, database. and all. In addition to state management improvements, you’ll also get access to real-time APIs like Forms and Web Fetch API. In addition to Remix, Ian uses TypeScript, Prisma, PlanetScale, and Vercel in this course for an amazing developer experience. Prisma + TypeScript makes it easy to format and validate all data flowing into your application.
Once Prisma is installed, you’ll find converting to a deployed, data output a breeze (not really) at PlanetScale. All in all Vercel plays well with GitHub and PlanetScale for easy deployment. In this package, you will build an MVP for a social media-type application. You’ll begin your journey by building multiple components of your application, learning about the Remix API and Patterns along the way. As you go along with these APIs and Methods Ian will introduce you to more complex features. This includes user authentication through cookie session storage and implementation of an authentication strategy (which again, is much more fun than it sounds in Remix!).
