Descriptions
Introduction to Mechanics Specialization. This specialization is designed for learners interested in first-year university-level physics. In three courses, you will learn the fundamentals of mechanics, including motion, forces, energy, momentum, rotational motion, and gravity. With 100 short lectures and over 100 problems, this comprehensive specialization is similar in detail and rigor to what is taught in classroom courses. It thoroughly prepares learners for their upcoming introductory physics courses or advanced studies. Courses include conceptual lecture questions, computational homework, and comprehensive exams. This will build your skills in using mathematical tools (trigonometry, vector analysis, and calculus) to calculate and/or estimate required parameters in real-world problems.
What you will learn
-
How to describe motion graphically mathematically.
-
The nature of forces and how they affect motion.
-
How to use energy and momentum to solve mechanical problems.
