Description

Design-Based Strategy: Design Thinking for Business Strategy and Entrepreneurship Course Design Strategy: Design Thinking for Business Strategy and Entrepreneurship is published by Coursera Online University.

This course is aimed at entrepreneurial managers looking for tools and techniques to quickly introduce exciting and innovative products or services to the market and with quality customer knowledge. It applies to a wide range of organizations, from small and medium-sized businesses to large enterprises, and across a wide range of industry sectors. The problem this course helps solve is the continuous pressure from managers to innovate and introduce new products and services for their customers. However, many creative ideas get “stuck” in the meeting room or are subject to intra-organizational tensions or groupthink. This course provides methodologies to overcome these challenges.

We build on the widely recognized concept of design thinking, but update and apply it to advance business strategy and entrepreneurship. Over five weeks, you’ll learn what “design strategy” is, how it differs from traditional design thinking and business strategy, and how it can be used to improve existing products or services in your business or introduce revolutionary ideas. We will also provide an exclusive, in-depth look at the application and practical impact of these strategies within one of Australia’s newest and most innovative financial institutions, UBank, and global reinsurance giant , Swiss Re. Through conversations with leadership teams, including the CEO of UBank, we will explore how they have integrated innovation through design thinking. At the end of this course, you will have a set of tools to inform product design and development for your startup, or to expand the product roadmap of an established organization.
