Description
Perform 3D is a software summary for the nonlinear analysis and analysis of earthquake-resistant building structures developed by Computers and Structures, a software specialist in earthquake design. According to the old seismic constitutions, earthquake-resistant structures using force-based linear elasticity analysis are robust and durable, but since they are usually used for strong inelastic earthquakes, this old view cannot be very rational. For this reason, a displacement approach has been introduced in the new statutes. Displacement-based design has realized that in severe earthquakes, the deformation of inelastic structures is much more important than the strength and force parameter. Perform 3D is also software based on the shear-based approach that allows you to design earthquake-resistant structures.
Although this software adheres to the ASCE 41 Code of Practice for Building Improvements, it is not limited to that code. Perform 3D is a complete software for designing displacement-based structures. This software has powerful capabilities for inelastic or rigid analysis. If you don’t know how your structure will behave against strong earthquakes, Perform 3D can help you identify structural weaknesses and provide design advice. However, keep in mind that this software is not designed to enable analysis, it is a powerful tool for applying shear-based designs and maximizing structural properties, and ultimately helping you design better. But this software will never work out for you.
