Not sure which version to download?
- Prefer not to be involved in building the program and downloading the entire Visual Studio software package (which happens to be a lot)? => Download the builds and run UnrealEditor.exe for version 5 and UE4Editor.exe for version 4 according to the Readme.txt file.
- Do you want to change the program source and create your own game engine? => Last published source code.
- Need a major improvement in ray tracing to render your work? => Download one of the two RTX versions. (The publishers of the two current versions are different, but the differences are not significant, more info pages NvPhysX and NVRTX can’t win.) (To access these two pages, you must be logged into both the Unreal Engine and GitHub websites with your account and link your GitHub account to Unreal Engine. Learn more here,
