Description
FRANC3D is a three-dimensional crack growth simulation software designed for engineering structures whose geometry components, local loading conditions, and crack evolution geometry can be arbitrarily complex.
FRANC3D software features and functions:
- Based on the finite element method
- Major FE solver interfaces such as: ANSYS, ABAQUS, NX/NASTRAN and MSC/NASTRAN
- Hole support for limited volume and no cracks
- Supports a variety of cracks (elliptical, through-thickness, and 1)
- Supports multiple crack views, multiple cracks and more
- The graphical user interface includes several wizards and dialogs for crack placement, crack growth, and analysis
- Mesh adaptation is a finite element model for simulating crack growth.
- A mesh smoothing algorithm is used to improve element quality.
- Stress intensity factors can be calculated for both homogeneous and heterogeneous materials to vary temperature and crack tensile strength or contact pressure.
- Calculate the stress intensity factors associated with all three fracture states with nodal points with cracks.
- Stress intensity factors are stored in the FRANC3D database for each crack.
- Supports multiple ways to calculate the torsion angle and expand the relative gap
- Use a polynomial curve to fit the cracks
- Fully automatic crack growth trending, including non-uniform crack growth and the ability to track crack growth and verify results using the FRANC3D post-processing module.
- Provide a Python-based user interface for automated execution of repetitive tasks and strategy for FRANC3D with other computer programs.
- Provide a more efficient way to design technical components
