Descriptions
Mastering selectors/locators for automated testing! Selectors/locators are at the heart of automated testing. Learning to identify them (without relying on tools) is a critical skill for becoming an automation tester. Locators in Selenium, Cypress, WebdriverIO… can be said to be one of the most important components required to create efficient and reliable automated tests, which in turn makes your tests less unstable. Ideally, this is the building block of all automation tests/scripts. This helps you find GUI elements that can perform multiple user actions. These are some of the important parameters of the scripts and if they are found to be incorrect or unstable, it may cause the script to fail. A good script base framework requires the correct arrangement of elements. Tools cannot be relied upon as they often do not provide the most efficient selector/locator available. Identifying selectors/locators is also a common question asked in coding interviews. By the end of this course, you will be able to confidently identify and write your own locators without relying on tools. This will give you the confidence and knowledge to write high quality Selenium test scripts.
