Description

SQL, NoSQL, Big Data and Hadoop Course. SQL, NoSQL, Big Data and Hadoop Course. A comprehensive look at the broad landscape of database systems and how to make the right decisions for your next project. The first time we ask or answer database questions is when we are building an application. The next case is either when our database choice becomes a bottleneck or when we need to do large-scale data analysis. This course covers almost every database or data storage platform class and how to use them. This is a great journey through databases that is great for software developers, big data engineers, data analysts and decision makers. It is not an in-depth look at each database, but rather a starter for your first project for each class. In this course, we will cover

  • Relational database systems, their characteristics, uses and limitations
  • Why NoSQL?
  • CAP theorem
  • Key-value stores and their use
  • Document-oriented databases and their use
  • Wide column storage and their uses
  • Time series databases and their use
  • Search engines and their uses
  • Graph databases and their use
  • Distributed reporting and real-time streaming systems
  • Hadoop and its uses
  • SQL-on-Hadoop tools and their use
  • How to make informed decisions when building a good data storage platform

Who is the target group?

  • Chief Data Officer
  • Application developer
  • Data Analyst
  • Data architects
  • Data engineers
  • students
  • Anyone who wants to understand Hadoop from a database perspective.

What does this course not include?

This course does not have access to the databases from an administrative perspective, so we do not cover administrative tasks such as security, backup, recovery, migration and the like.
Very extensive functionality in each of the databases discussed. For example, we will not cover the different database engines for MySQL or writing stored procedures.

What are the requirements?
The exercise of this course can be performed on any computer (Microsoft Windows, Linux, Mac OX).
However, HBase or Hadoop training requires a Hadoop environment. The suggestion for this is to use a pre-installed sandbox, a cloud offering, or install your own custom sandbox.

What do I need to know to get the best results from this course?
This course does not require any knowledge of NoSQL or data engineering. However, a little knowledge of RDBMS (even Microsoft Access) is enough to be well prepared for this course.

What you will learn in the SQL, NoSQL, Big Data and Hadoop course

  • Creating an intuition from the RDBMS system to NoSQL to Big Data on the cloud platform and Hadoop

  • Understand the different classifications of distributed databases

  • Learn when and how to use Redis or key-value stores

  • Understand when and how to use MongoDB or document-oriented databases

  • Understand and use HBase as column-wide storage

  • Understanding and using time series database (InfluxDB)

  • Understanding and using Elasticsearch as a search engine

  • Understand and use Neo4J as a diagram database management system

  • Understanding large-scale distributed data storage and processing in Hadoop

  • Understand when and how to use and build a streaming architecture with Apache Kafka

  • Use Apache Hive and understand where it can be used in relation to big data platforms

  • Learn about some of the SQL on Hadoop engines and how they work

  • Learn how to use data engineering capabilities to enable a data-driven organization
