In this course, you will learn how to create different types of custom components, such as custom component patterns, custom component details, and custom component connections. You can define individual connections, parts, seams, and details for your project. These are called custom components. You can use custom components like any Tekla Structures system component. By editing custom components, you can create smart, parametric custom components that automatically adapt to model changes. If you cannot find a predefined system component that meets all your needs, define a custom component. Custom components are especially useful when you create a large number of complex model objects and need to copy them across multiple projects. Once you have defined and saved a custom component in the Applications and Components catalog, you can easily access it from the catalog and use it elsewhere in the same model. If you need to change a custom component, you only need to apply the changes once. When you save changes, they are automatically applied to all copies of that custom component in the model. You can also import and export custom components as UE files between models and share custom components with colleagues, or save custom components in a model template so they are available with any new model based on the template.
