VFX for Motion, In VFX For Motion You’ll learn a wide set of visual effects tools and techniques using After Effects. Prepare to add keying, roto, tracking, matchmoving, and more to your creative toolkit. By the end of this course, you’ll have a practical knowledge of working with live-action footage, and you’ll even get some tips on how to direct and work on a VFX shoot. it First Week This helps you get used to the way the School of Motion course runs, and gives you a chance to have a brief VFX exercise. You won’t have to do much to complete this exercise, but this benchmark allows us to see your skill level and what fits your needs. We will provide helpful information to help you including a short lesson, a bonus with extra hints, a glossary of VFX terms, and some other information to check out.

ROtoscoping Is The technique is used to cut something out of shot footage (not on a green screen) so that it can be separated and used in different shots, removed from shots, or even to add effects to a scene. We’ll teach both simple and straightforward roto, which will enable you to complete a variety of projects that require rotoscoping. It will start out a little awkward, but you’ll come to appreciate this tool in the coming weeks.Where’again going To tackle One One of the most well-known VFX techniques: keying something shot on a green screen. It’s now so common that even your grandparents probably know about it. So, how does a green screen work? And how do you distinguish what’s filmed on it from what’s on it? Learn how to key things in After Effects and tackle some of the tricky issues that come up when using this type of footage, such as handling spills (the green that bleeds onto the object you’re keying). During this week you’ll also learn more advanced color matching.

You will also learn practical knowledge of working with live-action footage, and even some tips on how to direct and work on a VFX shoot.

Requirements

  • You will need an intermediate to advanced knowledge of After Effects with the ability to navigate the user interface, set keyframes, take advantage of different layer types, and understand the various tools available in the application. We recommend checking out the After Effects Kickstart and completing the Animation Bootcamp before taking VFX for Motion.
  • An intermediate-level proficiency in design is also recommended but not required; we suggest completing our Design Bootcamp course to improve your design skills if needed.
  • It will be helpful to have some basic knowledge of Cinema 4D for the later lessons in this course.
