Learn Bipolar Junction Transistor (BJT) – From the Basics: The bipolar junction transistor is a semiconductor device that can be used for switching or amplifying. This course covers the basics of BJT, BJT characteristics, BJT biasing techniques (fixed bias, collector-base bias, and voltage divider bias), BJT amplifiers (CB, CE, CC amplifiers), small signal model of BJT (hybrid model), feedback amplifiers, oscillators (RC and LC), multistage amplifiers, and power amplifiers. Now if we put two individual signal diodes together back to back, we get two series-connected PN junctions that would share a common positive (P) or negative (N) terminal. Fusing these two diodes creates a three-layer, two-junction, three-terminal device that forms the basis of a bipolar junction transistor, or BJT for short. Transistors are active components with three terminals made of different semiconductor materials that can act either as an insulator or as a conductor by applying a small signal voltage.
