Explanation
Make Online Games Using Unity’s New Player Framework Have you ever wanted to make your own multiplayer games? The free Unity Game Engine makes the process easier than ever with the new Netcode For GameObjects (NGO) framework. In this course we will create an advanced multiplayer game that you can modify and customize your creation to have fun playing with 20 or more people online at the same time. In the process you will learn how to create and deploy a dedicated server with configuration. We will make a .io style game (like slither .io and agar .io), which can accommodate dozens of players. That way you’ll build the skills to play any competitive or cooperative game that interests you.
You will learn about networking and how to make the game multiplayer. You will start building the core gameplay, making your tanks move, shoot, collect coins etc. Later you’ll add pads and advanced features like leaderboards, mini maps and perks. You’ll take your game online using UGS (Unity Gaming Services) so players can connect to the internet without the need for pre-installation. Finally you will learn how to make your game deployable as a dedicated server, so none of the players need to host the game. And you’ll learn how to integrate matchmaking, get players to queue up, and get matched up and uploaded to the server to play on.
