Explanation
Design and Analysis of Experiments (DoE), Design of experiments is a systematic method of studying the relationship between different inputs (factors) to a key output (response). This is the foundation of the intermediate level course. In this course, we begin with a basic understanding of the Design of Experiments (DoE) process by performing manual calculations of simple methods. Because this course will be taken by students from different disciplines, we have made the case studies simple using examples such as coffee tasting and catapult. These simple examples will help the student to focus on the concepts rather than on specific studies. This course assumes that you have no prior knowledge of Experimental Design, but that you have a basic understanding of statistical principles, such as ANOVA and Regression.
However, we will review these two topics (ANOVA and Regression) to provide sufficient knowledge to interpret DoE results. The course consists of video lectures, readings, and quizzes to help you build on each other so that by the end of the course, you will have a solid understanding of the topics covered. We will begin this course by understanding the definitions of common terms used in DoE. You will clearly understand the design of parts and components, as these will be explained using the example of the taste of coffee. In addition, we will also use the catapult test to understand the differences in the methods.
