Product Development & Systems Engineering uses a systematic and flexible approach to provide a comprehensive, solid foundation for the successful development of complex products or systems. The course will take you step by step through the product life cycle, from concept to design, development, production, deployment, maintenance and disposal. You will learn how the different parts of the system relate to each other, and how each one contributes to the achievement of its goals. Systems engineering terminology, which can often be confusing to a novice, is presented in an easily digestible format. Video lectures on specific topics will present important concepts. The course welcomes anyone who wants to know how complex products or systems can be developed and implemented successfully.

No particular background is required, and we welcome students of all interest and experience levels. The course closely follows ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2015 and 29148:2015 – the same standards used by the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE). Therefore, students will be equipped with much of the knowledge required to take the INCOSE proficiency test for the Systems Engineer Preparation (SEP) certification.
