Python Web Applications with Sockets! 2022-8 – Download

Explanation

Have you ever wanted to build an online game that you and your friends can play? How about building your own chat room like the golden AOL chat rooms from the 1990’s where you and your friends can “hang out” Do you want to learn the basic principles of how to How do these programs work – how can they communicate and send data back and forth from one computer to the next on the Internet? If the answer is yes, please consider taking this course! I know in my journey in Python and computer science, when I went through the basics… the basics… “this is a loop. Can you print the first 100 digits? type of exercise, the doors really open. There was only one problem: the doors opened wide, with very little guidance. Python is great because you can do so much with it, especially when you start introducing new components and libraries that provide additional functionality.

While there are many beginner resources available to hold your hand and guide you through learning, I felt that there was very little targeting this niche audience… The audience who learned the basics and are now looking for something else. In this course, I decided to focus my intermediate projects on web applications; I wanted to write programs that could communicate online, both within my local area network and across the Internet. With that in mind, I asked myself what are some interesting and fun projects that students would enjoy learning about and what external modules and libraries we should know about to carry out these projects. Each project builds on the knowledge gained from previous projects. In our final project, when we try to create our own online game, we will generate IPV4/TCP sockets to connect to server computers running static IP and port forwarding enabled, creating different threads to run the same process. For our machines, we will use json to separate Python objects such as game state and game players, and have full GUI integration using Pygame.

What will you learn?

  • Networking basics such as IP and port addresses, IPv4, TCP, and UDP protocols.

  • How to set up your own home network with static IP addresses and port forwarding so anyone can connect to your internet apps.

  • How to use the socket module to create a basic two-way conversation in a terminal.

  • How to use the threads module to create a basic terminal chat room.

  • How to use the tkinter module to create a GUI chat room like the old AOL chat rooms.

  • How to use the Json module to create an advanced GUI chat room with an admin window.

  • How to use the Pygame module to make your own online multiplayer game.

Who is this course for?

  • I would consider this an intermediate course for those who have a solid understanding of the basics of Python and are looking for ways to create new and interesting projects using various Python components.
  • Anyone interested in learning how to write programs that can work on a network and communicate with each other.
  • Anyone who loves online multiplayer GAMES!!!
