Electronics for Developers & Manufacturers – (GPIO) 2019-4 – Download

Explanation

In this course you will learn that there is more to life than the Arduino Uno and that there is probably a better way to do what you have been doing with microcontrollers. Yes, Arduino is a great platform to start with, but you will learn that Arduino is not one of the everyday electronic devices you use like your TV, microwave oven or car dashboard. Do you know how the supporting hardware in a microcontroller works? Well, you will learn that here. Also as a bonus you will learn how the functions of low-level libraries work. This is not really a hands-on course, not if you don’t want it to be. There are no promises about the projects you will do because we won’t force you to build something you don’t choose. However, I highly recommend that you follow the code. Several development sites for microcontrollers are presented, but you should follow the examples using your own microcontroller.

You should know that most lectures have the following points:

– “Restore” Slide

– The actual content of the lecture

-Live demo

-and Questions

What will you learn?

  • Design hardware around your IoT applications

  • Design add-on circuits for popular development boards such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi.

  • Understand how a microcontroller interacts with its supporting hardware

Who is this course for?

  • Makers who have experience with the equipment and want to learn how these circuits work with as few equations as possible.
  • Coders presented in the tools of some development board popular in the Maker movement, such as Raspberry Pi or Arduino (eg flashing an LED, inputting a push button)
  • Beginners who prefer to skip boring theory and math, and dive into fun hands-on applications that move, light up and make sounds.
  • This course is not intended for modern equipment designers or electrical engineers.
  • This is not an introductory Microcontroller course. You will not learn to use an Arduino board by taking this course.
  • This is not an electronic course in theory. Some of the basics are covered but we won’t be learning differential equations, conversions, or transfer functions.
  • This is not an introductory course to the program. You will not learn C, python or Java when you take this course.

Requirements

  • A development platform is recommended to take advantage of this course. Anything from an Arduino to a Raspberry Pi to a BASIC Stamp, TI Launchpad or NXP Freedom Board will do. Even stand alone micro controllers like NXP s08, microchip PIC or TI MSP430 will do.

  • Some operators and sensors, which are not necessarily designed to work with your development site. Anything you would like to test, such as RC servos, LCD displays, temperature sensors, motors, accelerometers, optical encoders, potentiometers and so on.

  • Some basic knowledge of how to run your code in a development environment is assumed.

  • Some basic knowledge about electronics is taken, such as Ohm’s Law, Series and Parallel Circuits, Voltage, Current, and so on.
