NextJS 13 is an amazing high-level framework, built on top of React, that will completely change the way you think about and build web applications. In this course, we will learn all the amazing features that NextJS 13 has to offer by building a restaurant reservation application where people can see restaurants and reserve tables. First we’ll explore the file system in NextJS 13. We’ll learn how to create static and dynamic paths by simply defining files and folders. We will then look at how to handle load, error, not found, and success conditions in our application. Then we’ll move on to teaching methods for reactive units. We will learn the difference between server and client components and when we should use one over the other.
After that, we will dive into the server side of NextJS. We will transfer the database to Postgres and define the models we need in Prisma (ORM). We will learn how to access this data, depending on the part we are using. We will then move to the back and start defining some endpoints. We will implement scratch authentication using middleware, hashers and json web tokens. The authentication points at the end will be consumed by our client and the user data will be stored globally using the API context. We then move on to completing our application by building the availability and scheduling system. We will use many algorithms and logical thinking to achieve this.
