Explanation
Making Game Music: Getting Started Making music doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive. Using the open source LMMS with its free tools and sounds allows you to bring your game to life with music. Music is an often overlooked part of games and in this course you will learn how to create sound for your game. In this course, Michael will take you from knowing nothing about LMMS, learning about its interface and tools, to creating a compositional process. Rhythm is such a fundamental part of creating music, it’s a great place to start experimenting and having fun while learning a little theory along the way.
During the course, you will use musical styles to guide you as you create your music. The theory does not have to be dry and boring when it is directly implemented which we will do during the course when we need to learn something new. In the next course, we cover modular music, where you can create a music scene that can seamlessly combine world exploration to take part in combat and eventually an environmental layer as well. There’s no better time to learn the basics of composition and bring your game to life today.
