A Green Belt Specialization in Six Sigma, this specialization is for you if you are looking to learn more about the more advanced aspects of Six Sigma and Lean. Six Sigma skills are highly sought after by employers nationally and internationally. These skills have been proven to help improve business processes, performance, and quality assurance. In this specialization, you will learn the proven principles and tools specific to six sigma and lean. This is a structured, structured specialization that covers a more advanced level of content (“green belt” level) in Six Sigma and Lean. Yellow Belt knowledge is required before moving on to Green Belt (which is the second specialization offered here on Coursera at USG).
A green belt qualification is required before moving to a black belt. At the end of course #4 (Six Sigma Advanced Improvement and Control Phase), there is a peer-reviewed project. Successful completion of this project is necessary for completion of this major. It should be noted that completion of either the yellow belt or the green belt does not give the learner “professional recognition” in Six Sigma, but it should help in better preparation for the professional recognition exams. Upon completion of this specialization, students will create a project charter, project team charter, data collection plan, process map, control plan, along with null and alternative hypotheses, problem statement, business case, goal statement, process and scope description, and time. All of these will be created using the six sigma principles and tools they have learned.
