Low Voltage Power Distribution System Design This course is intended for students looking to gain hands-on micro-power design experience from scratch. The course covers topics related to low voltage distribution system design for a duration of 10 hours. Basically, the course starts in part 1 with an introduction to the popular drafting software “AutoCAD” and emphasizes the options of different tools to prepare the student to know how to use it. Therefore, lighting calculation and lux calculation using DIALux software is fully explained in part 2 to prepare the lighting distribution system which will be explained and designed in the next step in part 3. After that, the lighting & power distribution systems are covered in parts 3 & 4, which in turn prepares the student to understand how to gather information and calculate the total load connected to the light and the light designed to appear in the panel schedule and line diagrams that will be explained in the part 5th in this course.

At this level of the course, you should perform various calculations of low voltage system related to sizing of Transformers, Generators, Cables, Circuit Breakers, calculation of voltage drop and short circuit current levels & power factor adjustment to ensure safety of system design. all for the purpose of reflecting the calculated values in the one line diagram of the project. All of these calculations will be explained separately using simple steps that you can apply manually and with the help of predefined Excel sheets for solving different formulas in section 6.
