Description

THE ARM DS-5 is a comprehensive set of C+C++ programming tools that make it much easier to write programs for SoCs or programmable chips. The SoC or System on chip is in fact a complete computer on a small scale. This program is proposed for a special category of SoCs based on ARM processors, which are more widely used in this type of system due to their low power consumption. In this system, various computer components such as processor, RAM, inputs and outputs are located on a chip which developers connect to different chip bases via product datasheets and program it. SoCs are commonly used in the design of embedded or embedded systems that require cost savings and high processing speeds. This program has been replaced by ARM Development Studio.

Although the code required for this program can be written with Notepad, this editor will not have the efficiency needed in complex programs. With DS-5, you can code, debug, debug and trace the program much easier and smarter to get to the root of the problem. This editor has an advanced syntax highlighter that makes coding very simple. It is easier to use external libraries in this environment. Transferring the program to the chip is as easy as one click. The ARM DS-5 graphical environment allows programmers to have greater control over the project. All project-related files are collected in one integrated location, just a click away. Each file opens in a separate tab, making it easy to open and review multiple documents simultaneously.

ARM Development Studio

ARM Development Studio is an alternative to ARM DS-5, which combines the features of this software with Keil MDK to give you the best features and capabilities in both areas. Multi-core comparability and enhanced productivity using CMSIS are some of the features of this software.

Required configuration

Hardware requirements

To install and use Arm Development Studio, your workstation must have at least:

  • A 2 GHz dual core x86 processor (or equivalent).
  • 2 GB of RAM.
  • Approximately 3 GB of disk space.

To improve performance, Arm recommends a minimum of 4 GB of RAM when you:

  • Debug large images.
  • Use models with large simulated flashcards.
  • Use Arm Streamline.

Host Platform Requirements

Arm Development Studio supports the following host platforms:

  • windows 10
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Workstation
  • Ubuntu Desktop Edition 16.04 LTS
  • Ubuntu Desktop Edition 18.04 LTS

Note:

Arm Development Studio only supports 64-bit host platforms.
